What are the underlying reasons why people keep secrets ?
Is it the fear of being hurt ?
Or to spare/protect another's feelings ?
Or allowing someone the luxury of a delusion, over the pain of reality ?
Are these reasons justifiable ?
I think people mostly keep a Secret, which is a Lie, because they don’t know what the truth is... what is right and wrong, so they settle for something in the middle which is not really the truth. If we value honesty, most of the time we’ll find ourselves practicing that value. When there is a conflict between telling the truth .. being honest and hiding things, then we have SECRETS ! From my observations, Secrets of a more serious manner somehow would usually come from breaking the very strict moral or religious rules. So, go figure..!!
