Wedding Yasmin & Faris - Part 2

Now kita bersambung ke hari kedua kenduri.

Friday; 24 August 2012 -  Yasmin's Wedding reception at Setia Pearl Island Country Club from 5pm to 10 pm.

Syukur cuacanya elok ... siang panas tak begitu terik dan petang serta malamnya tak hujan. Alhamdulillah.

disambut dengan riuh tepukan kompang ...

... dan dayang inang yang berbaris menunggu untuk mengiringi pengantin masuk ke dalam dewan

We bought Yasmin's wedding dress fabrics at Wisma Jakel Shah Alam and was recommended to have it specifically tailor-made to the style and exact cutting she preferred at Altelia Amani Boutique just a few doors away on the same block.  She had to make a few "dress fitting" trips up and down Shah Alam - Penang, but it was all worth it because the end results of the wedding dress set complete with shoes and veil was simply exquisite! Syukur Alhamdulillah.

Yasmin specially requested for a white carpet instead of a red one

a moment of silence for the recitation of the Doa Selamat

I particularly like the above photo because it was a special moment I shared with my daughter. The Ustaz was reciting the Doa ; the ballroom was quiet ... everyone was either seated or standing still... and there I was... standing right at the far end of the ballroom ... hands high in the air waving at her ! Among the stillness of the crowd, she saw me and gave me this smile :-)

In my case, it was not only 'mengusik jiwa'.. but it was also an embarassing moment which hit me at the most peak hour of the night!

8.30pm - There was a sudden surge of guests pouring in.  Keadaan kecoh seketika when I was told, "Door gifts dah HABIS!!"  What??  It was only 8.30pm and we still have about one and a half hours more to go! I was dizzy with shock, I thought I was going to faint !  Aduiiihh..

With the overwhelming turnout of guests,  getting to the food counter was another disaster ! There were two long queues because pinggan dah habis and guests had to wait for the plates to be washed.... hmmm.... :-(

With the effort made by relatives and friends who took the time to travel all the way to attend our event and sharing this special occasion with us, kami mengucapkan berbanyak-banyak terima kasih. You all have made the celebration extra special with your presence. Cuma ralat jugalah dengan situasi yang berlaku pada malam tu, tapi nak buat macamana dah, kan?

10.30 pm - Majlis tamat.  Sebelum balik, sepupu berempat ni sempat bergambar. Thanks, my dear girls, for helping to distribute the door gifts.

At the end of event, before going home, my sister distributed individually wrapped single roses I specially ordered for family

semua dah keletihan

Before leaving the ballroom, I went to the VIP room to check and collect our belongings to bring back home.

Another shocking moment !

At the corner of  the room, I found stacks of the wedding door gift bags lumped together!!

Now nak buat apa dengan door gifts yang melambak  ni!!??

myself tengah angin ! (bottom right of pic)

Nampaknya selepas ni have to trace back those who did not get the gifts and go round distributing the gifts pula. hmmm....

Yasmin & Faris - the beginning of their life together

To my new son-in-law, Faris, you are now an important part of our family and we welcome you into our family unreservedly and unconditionally.  We look forward to sharing your lives through the many years ahead.

To my daughter, Yasmin, you have now taken on the role of taking care of Faris.
Remember Sayang...

A good marriage must be created.
In marriage, the little things, are the BIG things.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right person but...
It is being
the right PARTNER.

Semuga sentiasa diberkati Allah SWT.
Amiiin.
